The Institute of Public Health & Hygiene (IPHH), New Delhi, successfully organized a two-day National Conference on HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Reproductive Health & Hygiene on 30th April and 1st May 2026 at the FIMT Auditorium, FIMT Institutional Campus, Kapashera, New Delhi. The conference focused on spreading awareness, promoting prevention, and encouraging meaningful discussions on important public health issues.
For over 30 years, IPHH has been consistently creating a platform where difficult conversations are not avoided but addressed with honesty and responsibility. This National Conference on HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Reproductive Health & Hygiene is a reflection of that strong commitment. Guided by the theme “Awareness, Prevention, and Dignity for All,” the event brought together voices from across the healthcare sector.
The conference began with registration, welcome tea, inaugural lamp lighting, and Vande Mataram. Dr. Anita Mukherjee, Principal of IPHH, delivered the opening speech, while Hon’ble Chairman Shri V.K. Nangalia Bhardwaj gave the keynote address, highlighting the importance of awareness and education in controlling HIV/AIDS and improving reproductive health.
Experts from the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Delhi State AIDS Control Society (DACS), JNU, and Medanta Hospital shared valuable insights based on field experience, policy implementation, and patient care. Speakers including Dr. Neelima Mondal, Dr. Akshay Verma, Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Jha, Dr. Ashish Joshi, Dr. Vandana Dabla, Mrs. Abha, and Dr. Ambika Modi addressed key topics such as HIV prevention, sexually transmitted diseases, family planning, menstrual hygiene, psychological care, and innovations in antiretroviral therapy.
The presence of the Chief Guest added great value to the proceedings and reinforced the need for a more inclusive and stigma-free approach to healthcare. With active participation from students, educators, and healthcare professionals, the conference created an atmosphere that was both serious and hopeful.
Student performances, including a play on breaking stigma and a nursing student skit, made the sessions more engaging and impactful. A quiz competition on HIV/AIDS further encouraged student involvement.
Continuing its long-standing tradition, IPHH also ensured the free distribution of educational materials and awareness literature, helping communities where access to information is still limited.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session and certificate distribution. This successful event once again proved that IPHH is not only an educational institution but also a strong force for social awareness, healthcare education, and community development.
