World Diabetes Day Awareness Session at Santom Hospital

On 13th November, IPHH students actively participated in a World Diabetes Day awareness session organised at Santom Hospital with the aim of educating the community about diabetes prevention and management. The session focused on increasing awareness about the growing burden of diabetes and the importance of early detection and lifestyle modification.

Gayatri, a student of GNM 1st Year, led the health education talk and explained the early signs and symptoms of diabetes in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. She also addressed common myths associated with diabetes and emphasised practical preventive measures such as maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, managing stress, and monitoring blood sugar levels periodically.

The interactive session encouraged patients and attendants to ask questions and actively participate in discussions. The initiative was well received by the hospital staff and attendees, motivating many to adopt healthier habits and take proactive steps towards a diabetes-free and healthier life.
